Gardening Shoes

Gardening Boots Keep Your Toes Warm!

You want to keep your garden looking great. That means spending a lot of time with your feet on the earth, or on your knees. A very overlooked accessory comes to mind right away. Got gardening shoes?

Chances are that if you are wearing normal shoes for the garden, not only did you get unhappy feet, but your shoes are most likely completely ruined. One option is to simply wear out those old pair of hiking boots or even your old Converse high-tops. The other option of course, is what the gardening market has to offer in terms of gardening shoes. While they are not attractive looking shoes, they have the advantage of protecting your feet and legs from all the garden “stuff”.

So what type of gardening shoes do you need? The answer to this question depends on the condition of your garden and the type of work you will be doing in it. There are mainly two types of gardening footwear that you can get: gardening shoes and gardening boots.

As you may well assume, gardening shoes will be easier to put on and take off. They are usually made from rubber or some other material that is waterproof. Even on dry days there is usually a muddy patch lurking somewhere in your garden. Not only will your waterproof gardening shoes be able to repel mud and keep your feet dry, they will also be quite easy to wash off.

It is also good to think about sturdiness as well as impermeability when picking out shoes. Sturdy shoes can prevent injury to your feet from branches, rose thorns, as well as from stray gardening tools or jagged rocks.

The same criteria in terms of material for buying gardening shoes, also applies to gardening boots. They should be made out of very sturdy and impermeable materials. Most are made out of latex. They definitely need to pass the thorn bush and poking-branch tests.

Gardening boots usually extend up beyond your ankles, offering the added advantage of protecting your feet and legs. Deeper levels of dirt, mud and water that you may step on will not seep into your feet. Most gardeners indeed prefer the boots to the shoes.

Depending upon your gardening needs and what type of work you do in the garden, garden shoes or garden boots can protect your feet while you weed and clean your garden. Any menaces from your garden will not stand a chance against your new garden wear. So go out and get a pair of gardening shoes today!
